Original painting using drawing, acrylic paint and collage on paper framed in ornate gold coloured frame.  Below There is No Storm is like many of Sabina's portraits inspired by her visits to the National Gallery in London.  Slightly based on Tudor images, Sabina's imagery uses an array of materials and techniques to convey the opulence and multitude of textures of historical costumes.  Collage sits next to drawing and is overlayed by painting, a technique that brings layers and complexity to the surface of each composition in which imagess from magazines and the internet mingle with botanical details and intricate pencil drawings. The central figures - powerful women, keenly wrought - invite company but share the space with creatures and objects from the exotic to the ordinary.  These women are not set in a certain time frame but exist eternally.  Analogous of the journey into the unknown, the eternal quest for knowledge or fulfilment, Sabina's work offers us a unique and compelling vision of the beauty and depth in us all.
